Building Green Is What We Do
Energy Efficiency
ICF homes are very energy efficient as the insulated forms offer superior insulation compared to traditional construction methods. This translates into less energy consumption, meaning lower energy bills, and less environmental impact.

Reduced Carbon Emissions
ICF homes require less energy to maintain comfortable temperatures, thus have a lower carbon footprint than traditional homes. Additionally, building with concrete reduces lumber in the build, furthering reduction of carbon emissions.

Reduced Waste
Reduced waste: ICF Homes generate less waste during construction because the forms are pre-cut and pre-formed at the factory, leaving less room for errors resulting in less scrap waste.

Increased Durability
ICF Homes are more resistant to natural disasters like hurricanes, tornados, fires and earthquakes. Resistance to natural disasters saves on rebuilding costs and provides a more comfortable home over the lifetimes of the occupants.

Longevity
ICF Homes require minimal maintenance. They add increased protection during natural disasters and do not degrade. With a lifespan of over 100 years permanency is indisputable.

Who We Are
About Our Company
Highmark Design and Construction was established with a vision to bring ICF technology to the Columbia River Gorge. Since moving to the PNW in 2012 we have noticed almost all homes are made of conventional materials and methods. The need to establish a company which can supply, consult, and build with ICF was a dream since building Pete's home in 2018.
Insulated Concrete Form Construction
ICF blocks are molded and formed hollow building blocks that are ready to be filled with concrete and rebar. As soon as the blocks come off the truck they are ready to be stacked.
